About A Boy Very enjoyable, character interactions are great and it leaves you with a warm ending.
Abre Los Ojos The movie Vanilla Sky remakes, it's interesting to see the base material but if you didn't like Vanilla Sky, don't bother.
Accepted It's an okay college comedy. The fat guy is what makes it, he's going places. Justin Long is becoming a favorite and he's also great in this movie.
Ace Ventura: Pet Detective An okay comedy/mystery with Jim Carrey.
Ace Ventura 2: When Nature Calls A shitty comedy/mystery/sequal with Jim Carrey.
Adaptation The interaction between the twin brothers is the best part. The rest is so-so.
Addams Family Enjoyable, if for nothing but the nostalgia of when I watched it as a kid.
Addams Family Values Another shitty sequal.
Adventures in Babysitting Kind of a goofy movie. This girl is babysitting and fights crime lords or something.
A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints I'm back, back in the New York groove! This movie felt a lot like the movie KIDS except I liked all the characters instead of hating them all and that is where the movie and it's cast succeed greatly, making you fucking care. If you don't care what happens to any of them than it's pointless but each is presented honestly and in such a way that it kind of feels like you know them. For me, I can take each character and think of people I've known that were like them, etc. Man, the cast! Shia Labeouf and Robert Downy Jr. are perfect, everyone's perfect. Man, I've fallen in love with this movie and I've only seen it once. Highly recommended.
A History of Violence I was suprised how good this movie was. I read the description and settled in assuming it would be a cliche action "Walking Tall" type piece of crap. Totally wrong. The action sequences are anything but cliche, they were fresh and exciting and it wasn't at all all about them. It was about the characters and story. It was great, highly recommended.
Air Bud A solid movie if you're a kid.
Airheads A stupid waste of many many talented people.
Aladdin Animated gold. 'nuff said.
Aladdin 2: The Return of Jafar It's neat to see Jafar come back as a genie. That's all.
Aladdin and the King of Thieves It's kind of neat to see Aladdin's father...
Alfie (remake) An interesting look at the life of a playboy and the consequences entailed in such a life-style.
Alice in Wonderland (1980s TV) The fact that I give this movie a 5 is largely due to nostalgia. Watching it today, I still like most of the songs and the cast is pretty good.
Alien Good atmosphere and special effects for its day. Lots of twists and surprises. Just a little slow in areas. Seems quite intentionally ambiguous about many things, the alien especially. Kind of neat, as if your discovering it all yourself but also kind of annoying. It's hard to say what the rules of this universe are, if you catch my meaning. All you see are trees, there's no forest view to give you any context. Not especially necessary... I'm just riffing.
Aliens A decent sequal. A sequal done right. It ups the ante in every way. Love the end battle. Giant mech suits are awesome. But, similar to the problems with the first, I just don't give a crap about any of the people that survive for more than thirty minutes.
All I Want A perfect coming of age/romance starring Elija Wood and two very hot lead females.
Almost Famous A bitter-sweet look at the end of innocence. I love what it says about rock, then and now.
Almost Heroes Worth watching just for Chris Farley. Once.
Almost You Don't let the 2 fool you, I actually enjoyed this movie, maybe too much. I found it on a movie channel preview weekend and only kept watching it because I was fascinated by Brooke Adams, who I slowly fell in love with. Also, all the supporting actors are just... Whoa, is this what the hair and personalities were like in the 80s? Damn... All the girls got haircuts like guys and the one guy has a haircut like Egon from The Real Ghostbusters... I liked a lot of the dialogue and character interaction, it was just dated and poorly done.
Alvin and the Chipmunks Jason Lee and David Cross make this movie slightly watchable. A decent kid's flick, if anything.
Amelie A strange French tale of a girl's search for someone to care about.
American Beauty Nicely paced look at a mid-life crisis. Funny at times and pretentious at times.
American History X Great performances and, this sounds cheesy as hell, but a great lesson, too.
American Pie Moderately funny coming of age comedy.
American Pie 2 Moderately funny coming of age comedy sequal.
American Psycho Christian Bale creates an immensly entertaining performance. I laughed my ass off and found the rest thought-provoking and certainly interesting. Check it out with an open mind and don't be afraid to laugh.
American Wedding Kind of funny coming of age comedy sequal.
American Splendor Great movie about a guy that wrote some comics with himself as the main character. Brutally honest look at a man's life with some laughs and tears along the way. I really like the flow and use of animation and how the real people are in it as well as actors playing them.
America's Sweethearts Watch it if you're a fan of it's big name actors. If not, pass on it.
An American Haunting Man, I'm sorry I wasted two hours of my life on this shitty, shitty movie. The ending, the second, unnecessary ending is SOOOO fucking bad! Man. It's just bad.
An Evening with Kevin Smith Kevin Smith stands on stage and talks about his movies and his life and shit he likes. If you like hearing Kevin Smith talk, it's a pretty cool way to spend a couple hours.
An Evening with Kevin Smith 2: Evening Harder More of the same. It gets an extra ball just for the phrases "Let me find out," and "Let me get in them guts." So suave.
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgandy A few standout moments with another talent-wasted cast.
Angus I think when they made Angus, they thought everyone could relate to him somehow but thinking back... No.
Animal, The Shitty, shitty movie. A vehicle for that Survivor chick that crashed and burned.
Antitrust A solid suspence movie with charismatic performances and hot chicks.
Antz Dumb.
Angels in the Outfield I remember liking it for some reason as a kid. I have no idea why.
Anger Management Decent comedy. Nice relationship between the male leads.
Annie Hall An interesting look at the stages of a relationship.
Anything Else Pointless. Annie Hall was better.
Anywhere But Here Natalie Portman.
Arachnophobia John Goodman.
Are We There Yet? This is a really generous score, mainly cause the kids in the movie are pretty funny. It's like a bad "Planes, Trains and Automobiles." What that movie did right and this does wrong is that it made you care for the characters right away so your journey is their journey. This movie seems bound to make you hate EVERYONE right off the bat. It portrays them all in the worst possible light until near the end when it polarizes and they shove the gushy love B.S. down your throat. A once watcher if anything.
Aristocats, The Haha... these cats are cute. The animation is pretty awesome. Reminds me how much more special traditional 2D animation can be compared to all this 3D crap we're getting lately.
Aristocrats, The Funny and interesting to a point. Enough for a feature length movie... I don't know... Pacing is horrible. A shorter cut of the film would be just as good and the special features on the DvD are there for people who want to check out Sarah Silverman and Robin Williams if they want. Not for the faint of heart.
Armageddon Ben Affleck.
Army of Darkness Honestly disappointing. The middle is the best part. Boring beginning, shitty shitty ending.
Art School Confidential The classic story of a guy trying to impress/win a girl way out of his league and how he makes a fool of himself and changes himself the way he thinks the girl wants him. It's a lot fresher being set in an art school, there are a lot of entertaining side characters and bits.
Assault of Precint 13 (original) I felt this movie was too disjointed and once a story started that you could follow and get invested in, it was over... A few rewrites later and I think this could have been good.
At First Sight I kind of like it. The two leads are pretty people.
Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery Kind of funny. Worth watching once.
Austin Powers 2: The Spy Who Shagged Me Kind of funny. Worth watching once.
Austin Powers 3: Goldmember Like the 2nd, a clone but the father aspect is neat.
Aviator, The A great performance by Dicaprio and a story that had me glued to the screen start to finish.
