M

Machinist, The Great suspence thriller. Christian Bale.
Madagascar Decent kids movie but it relies to heavily on its big name voice talent and cgi-graphic-gimmick. A string of one liners and the usual puns found in these type of movies. The ending kind of pissed me off, too.
Madagascar 2 A decent follow-up to the first. The voice cast is all back for more. I like the main story, a boy trying to prove he's a man to his father.
Magnificent Seven, The The one and only western that ever held my attention. Great characters and a near perfect story.
Malibu's Most Wanted A bit funnier than I expected, but I wasn't expecting much. Has a few laughs but expect a lot of cliche jokes...
Mallrats A great romantic comedy. Well written and nicely casted. A must-see if you're a comic book fan.
Major Payne Dumb.
Mannequin Nostalgia has a lot to do with this score but I love this movie. The two leads are terrific and the humor as well as the romantic parts hit at a great level.
Mannequin 2: On the Move Meh-ish sequal... Really dumb but it's got Hollywood in it.
Man on the Moon Andy Kaufman bio-pic starring Jim Carrey. Interesting and entertaining look at a man misunderstood by many.
Mars Attacks I don't remember anything remarkable about this movie...
Mary Poppins As a kid it was okay... Now, I don't think I'd ever think about watching it again.
Mask, The A colorful comic book movie starring Jim Carrey. I really like the concept of the mask and I wish the sequal didn't suck so much.
Masters of the Universe Watchable once. Strange amalgamation of the cartoon, the 80s and Courtney Cox... Why?
Matchstick Men Solid drama. Great story and Nic Cage is great in it.
Matilda Terrific kids movie based on the Roald Dahl book.
Matrix, The Spellbinding, action-packed and thought-provoking.
Matrix Reloaded, The What it lacks in story and philosophy it makes up for in raising the action bar even higher.
Matrix Revolutions, The Drops the ball on everything but the action. Disappointing ending.
Mazes and Monsters This movie likes to trick you a lot. It keeps starting up storylines then ending them without explanation. Is it about Jay Jay contemplating suicide over loneliness and isolation due to his publishing father's absense? Is it about Jay Jay's jealousy of Robbie over dating Kate, his former crush? Is it about a group of M&Mers recruiting people for a cult? Is it about how an RPG can warp a person's mind over time, trapping them in a strange fantasy world and how Robbie gets lost in a sweet cavern for a few days? It turns out that no, it's not about any of those. To me, it's about how the guilt over the dissappearance of his brother deludes Robbie's mind, reinforcing an already present mental illness. This is the kind of movie you have to watch in high school Psychology and in that case it's not bad. From the point of view of an RPG fan, it's fodder for a lot of laughs. Lol, it tries... so hard, too. I want to give it a higher score just for its heart and that sweet theme song but no... Just a two. Boy, isn't that ending bleak as all hell? I like it.
Mean Girls Hilarious high school comedy. Well written with a very pretty cast.
Meet the Feebles Strange... just strange...
Meet the Fockers Solid sequal, funnier than the first.
Meet the Parents Decent comedy.
Memento One of those movies that are like a book you can't put down until the end. Original story, nicely paced.
Me, Myself and Irene A blah Jim Carrey comedy...
Men In Black Awesome story, special effects, cast. Funny as hell at times, as well.
Men In Black 2 Disappointing, yet worth watching. Kind of contrived when they bring Tommy Lee Jones back.
Merlin's Shop of Mystical Wonders Pure shit, yet excellent if you're watching MST3K.
Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil Decent suspence drama. Nice cast.
Mighty Ducks, The A terrific kids comedy. Watchable over and over, even as I get older.
Mighty Ducks: D2, The Decent sequal. Maintains laughs and drama.
Mighty Ducks: D3, The Great ending to a solid series of movies.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie Crappy, yet awesome at the same time. Sadly, not old enough to get a huge nostalgia boost. If you are or were a Power Rangers fan, it's awesome to see the updated style of rangers and villians and zords.
Minority Report Interesting look at a possible future if precognition were real. Tom Cruise, if you like that sort of thing.
MirrorMask A surreal journey through a strange world. Soundtrack and visuals are unique. Cast is great, especially the lead character. The "Close to You" sequence is just amazing and entrancing. Check it out for something different.
Misery Scary, with a real life monster. Great cast and the story will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Money For Nothing John Cusack finds like a million dollars and it ruins his life rather than makes it better. Interesting and entertaining.
Money Talks An okay buddy cop movie, except that neither of these guys are cops I don't think... Chris Tucker and Charlie Sheen.
Monkeybone Brendan Frazer and claymation.
Monster House Scary and fun. The kids are all awesome and the visuals are spectacular. It's rare to see movies that hit this nail on the head anymore, the nail of... being a kid but starting to see as an adult or... starting to see the world from a more complex view.
Monster's Inc. Solid CGI animated movie. John Goodman.
Monster Squad Cool kid's adventure movie... Now that I think about it, it's like IT. These neiborhood kids band together to fight Dracula and his henchmen-monsters and they make silver bullets... Wow, a lot like IT. It's a fun Halloween movie at it's heart.
Monty Python and the Holy Grail Highly overrated, yet it has its moments. Poorly paced and no cohesive storyline. Talented cast.
Mortal Kombat Solid video game movie with some very memorable moments. Very fun if you're familiar with the game.
Mortal Kombat 2: Annihilation Pure shit. Only neat to see the "real life" versions of the characters, which all suck balls compared to the video game.
Moulin Rouge Colorful and original. Nice renditions of classic songs and solid performances. I like stories like this.
Mouse Hunt Painful.
Mr. and Mrs. Smith The story is pretty original, albeit you could say it plays out similarly to True Lies, except both people are leading the double life. The two leads are terrificly charismatic and there is just a whole lot of fun crammed in. Vince Vaughn delivers some great belly laughs and the plot moves along nicely. Simply a fun, action-packed, clever movie.
Mr. Deeds Solid Adam Sandler comedy.
Mr. Miracle Jim Belushi.
Mr. Mom Michael Keaton.
Mrs. Doubtfire Robin Williams.
Mulan Disney movie.
Mulholland Drive Confusing, yet captivating. Nice imagery and some really really touching moments.
Multiplicity Michael Keaton. Michael Keaton. Michael Keaton. Michael Keaton. Michael Keaton. Michael Keaton.
Muppet Christmas Carol Great version of the classic Christmas tale. Great lead and great songs.
Muppet Movie, The Fuck yes. Some day we'll find that rainbow connection, I just know it. Love that song. Muppets are cool, too.
Muppet Treasure Island Not super memorable. There have been so many different versions, retellings of this story... The muppet one is kinda... meh...
Must Love Dogs Decent romance movie. The two leads are great. I liked that it was kinda low key. These two have already gone through their huge loves and are just ready to be happy. There's a bit of drama, but then the chick simmers down and is like, oh, John Cusack is sweet, why didn't I realize it before? Chicks are dumb like that, j/k! But yeah, John Cusack's character knows what's going on the whole time.
My Best Friend's Wedding Julia Roberts.
My Bloody Valentine 3D Don't waste your time on this movie unless you can somehow see it in theaters in 3D. Even then... eh... if you love 3D it's worth watching, I guess.
My Science Project A great 80s sci-fi flick. Dennis Hopper is in it.
My Step-Mother Is an Alien Hmm... Not very memorable. Dan Akroyd is in it...
Mystic River This movie is pure shit. The story is dumb and all the characters suck at life. Sean Penn really pisses me off in this movie. He is a shit head. The one girl is hot but she dies right away. Lame!
